Heads up! This blog post hasn't been updated in over 2 years. CodePen is an ever changing place, so if this post references features, you're probably better off checking the docs. Get in touch with support if you have further questions.

CodePen Embeds allow you to take any Pen and make a mini version of it to put into places like documentation, blog posts, or any other page you’d like to show off a live demo and code.

Embeds can be editable as well, meaning the code can be edited and anyone can see the results of those changes. But what happens when that person likes what they’ve done and wants to save the results? Not to worry!

Just click the “Fork on CodePen” (the text in the upper right changes to that once you’ve made a change) and they’ll be taken directly to CodePen where they can continue playing and save the Pen to their account. It will save as a fork of the original.
