CMS Limitations
Some CMS’s don’t allow custom CodePen embeds due to their restrictions for 3rd party code. For example, you can’t use the iframe or HTML embed code in a Medium article or Notion page.
But, if your CMS supports oEmbed (like Medium and Notion do), you can embed a Pen by pasting a link to the Pen into your page. The embed will display with our default dark theme and the branded CodePen header. Read more about oEmbed.

Preview vs. Published in a CMS: Some CMS’s do allow custom embeds, but won’t expand the embed in a “preview” version of your page (for example, an unpublished draft). In that case, your embed will be visible once your post or page is published.
PRO Embeds
PRO members can remove the CodePen header and branding from embeds, and create unlimited custom embed themes. If your PRO subscription ends, customized embeds will revert to the default theme with the CodePen header and branding. If you resume your subscription, your customizations will also resume.
