Heads up! This blog post hasn't been updated in over 2 years. CodePen is an ever changing place, so if this post references features, you're probably better off checking the docs. Get in touch with support if you have further questions.
I think even if you were living under a rock, you’d still know that there is a general election coming up here in the United States on November 8th. A new president will be chosen! And state senators and representatives will be voted on as well.
We have a simple message to share (long live West Wing):
No matter who you vote for, make sure you vote.
It’s easy not to. So many of us are overscheduled. The drama of it all can lead to frustration, disinterest, and apathy. We might look at the polls and assume our state will swing one way or another regardless of what we do. We might just plain ol’ forget.
So in an effort to combat those things, we’d love to use some of our creative energy to encourage the act of voting. It absolutely matters. Love the system or hate it, this is the voice we have right now.
The plan is simple: I’ll be featuring Pens that encourage the act of voting. Plus, we’ll be doing a roundup of cool voting-related Pens over on CSS-Tricks. Think of it like one of our old school Pattern Rodeos. It’s just a loose concept to get creative with.
If you have one you want to submit, leave a comment on this blog post, tweet us, or email us!
Here’s one I made:
