We’re giving Algolia’s DocSearch a little spin around here.

We were using Google Site Search, which returns pretty fantastic results, but are also covered in advertisements. We’re aren’t anti-ads around here necessarily, but them showing up above search results when you’re trying to find documentation is not a good place for them.

We’ve also moved the search to a bar at the top of the page which is on most all pages over here in the blog and docs area of CodePen, that way, if you don’t land on what you were hoping for, you can do another search right where you’ve landed.

Here’s a little video of how search looks as I write this:

Notice how even the headers of the documentation are indexed, so you’ll jump right down to the relevant headers when appropriate.
